Jeffrey Battinus for Buffalo Grove Trustee

I am running for Village Trustee of Buffalo Grove, in the municipal election on April 9^th 2013.  I am a current resident of Buffalo Grove, purchasing my first home here and deciding to begin my family in this amazing community.  I am married to Mary Battinus, and the newest member of our family and Buffalo Grove resident was born this past July.  I have lived in Illinois most of my life, with the exception of one year I lived in Argentina completing my senior year of college and the two years I worked and studied in Phoenix while completing my MBA.

My main focus if you choose to elect me on April 9th is to improve the business friendly environment of Buffalo Grove, making it easier to do business and to start a new business in Buffalo Grove.  I hope to do this while enhancing the outreach to new businesses and the retention of existing businesses within the Village.  I feel there are too many vacant storefronts, and we can reduce these vacancy rates via business friendly regulations and ordinances, and enhanced active collaboration with business leaders.   

Current Volunteer Work:

I am a current Commissioner in the Buffalo Grove Board of Health, and serve as a Spanish Interpreter and National Staff Member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Interpreter Corps where I hold the office of Branch Chief in charge of recruitment of linguists.

Professional Career:

I have worked in healthcare recruitment my entire professional career working in the; staffing industry, hospitals, homecare/biopharmaceuticals, mental health, and now oncology services.  My background as a professional recruiter has made me well suited to enhance the outreach and communication to new and existing businesses in the community.
